Bangor-on-Dee Races

Bangor-on-Dee Races

Racing first took place at Bangor on Dee Racecourse on February 1859, and has since taken place regularly except during the wars.

Set on the border between England and Wales, this charming rural track is set in glorious countryside beside the River Dee and is easily reached from the Cheltenham Lodge, Chester bed & breakfast by car or by train.

You are always assured of a warm welcome, be prepared for plenty of fresh air and a really enjoyable day out in the country at one of Britain's most idyllic Jump courses.

Since 2006 Bangor has also hosted amateur Point-to-Point races run by local hunts. The course for the Point-to-Point is on the inside of the main track and races are run right handed.
